Services

Aesthetic Surgery

The primary purpose of aesthetic surgery is to improve a person’s appearance and/or remove signs of ageing.

Breast Reconstruction

We offer the following services:

Congenital asymmetry
Congenital asymmetry surgery involves surgery on one or both breasts via various methods to achieve balance between the two breasts.

Following breast cancer treatment asymmetry may be present related to a lumpectomy or following a complete mastectomy. All procedures for reconstruction of these defects are available within the hospital.

Reduction mammoplasty
Reduction mammoplasty is primarily a functional surgery. The purpose is to alleviate back pain and strain and secondarily to improve cosmesis. In reducing the volume the breast is lifted higher on the chest wall and the overall shape is improved.

Skin Cancer Reconstruction

Surgery for skin cancer can involve primary closure, local flaps or skin grafts depending on size and location of the cancer. The primary focus of treatment will be excision and treatment of the cancer with the best possible aesthetic result.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation involves placement of a breast implant to increase the overall volume of the breast and improve the breast shape. Poor breast volume may be related to a congenital lack of overall breast size or a loss of volume related to postpartum atrophy or weight loss.

Mastopexy

A mastopexy is a surgical procedure to allow tightening of the breast tissue and lifting the nipple to a higher position on the breast producing a more youthful appearance to the breast.

Abdominoplasty

An abdominoplasty is performed primarily to remove excess skin in the lower abdomen.

It can also be used to improve the strength of the abdominal wall specifically when there is separation of the rectus abdominus muscles within the abdominal wall.

These can be tightened to allow for narrowing at the waist and with skin removal and produce an overall tightening of the abdominal wall.

Facelift and Necklift

Over time the skin of the face and neck become lax and there are changes to the underlying muscles and fat in the face. All of these changes result in producing the signs of ageing in the face and neck.

Our consultant plastic surgeons, here at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, offer facelift and/or neck lifts procedures that allow for tightening of the skin of the face and neck, and repositioning of the underlying muscles and face.  This improves the overall appearance of the individual, and reduces the signs of aging.

Blepharoplasty

The presence of additional skin and bulging of the underlying fat pads can produce a tired and heavy look to the eyelids. Blepharoplasty is a tightening of the skin and adjustment of the under fat pads which rejuvenates the over all appearance of the periorbital region.
