Biography

Dr Kamel is medical oncologist specialist and expert in gynaecological, gastro-intestinal and head and neck cancers. Dr Kamel received her degree from Cairo University in 2000 with first class honours. After completing her internship in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Kamel moved to Ireland to progress in her career. When she moved to Ireland, Dr. Kamel completed her General Professional Training in Internal Medicine. During her career, Dr Kamel worked in several significant University Cancer Centres within Ireland, gaining valuable experience in the field of Medical Oncology. Additionally , she has completed her fellowship training at Queen’s University Cancer Centre in South-East Ontario, Canada in 2016. While completing her fellowship in Canada, she received international specialised training in Medical Oncology. During her training, she acquired  key skills and upgraded the clinical expertise to deliver world-class care in the treatment and management of patients with cancer.

Throughout her career, Dr. Kamel has showed high interest in research and keenly undertook several research projects. Her dedication to research is evidenced by her continuous presentation of audits and publications of research. Dr Kamel has 14 publications in peer review journals, alongside her involvement in audits and presentation at both national and international level. Additionally, Dr. Kamel has been involved in quality improvement projects in order to ensure holistic and patient-centred care is provided. Currently,  Dr Kamel remains dedicated to her profession and commits to prioritise the delivery of individualised and research- supported management to those combatting their cancer diagnosis.
